With the rakini chakra conquered and “cleansed”, the kundalini slithers up to the next chakra–the lakini–located just above the navel, the place of your “center” or your “inner fire”. Then comes the kakini, the heart chakra. Crossing its threshold, according to believers, requires a serenity of calm and inner peace (balance). Following those is the shakini, the throat chakra (where the thyroid gland is located). The nectar of immortality drips down and lands here.
Any remaining feelings of guilt are what would block the kundalini from slithering its way further up to the second-to-last of the primary chakras: the hakini, the ajna, the famous “third-eye” chakra. The pineal gland near the back of your brain is physically similar in structure to the human eyeball, but it is shaped like a pine cone (hence “pineal”). This eye has to “open up”, and awakening it with tones and vibrations are the purpose of the “ohm” sound, or clacking one’s tongue against the roof of their mouth during meditation.
It is believed this third eye is what can see the world of the divine. They call it the “1,000 petal lotus”. The third eye is associated with wisdom, “da’ath”, and the sphere of “Chokmah” on the Sephirothic Tree. If one were to raise their kundalini to this level, it is said they can taste the drops of the overflowing cup of ichor physically in their mouth.

And just above the eyes, about where the eyebrows reside, forms the “theater of the mind’s eye”, a disembodied movie screen where a series of immersive colors splash forth, not unlike a high frames-per-second Fruitopia commercial. This is the moment where a mortal becomes “enlightened” and can “know all things”. Some have attained this state without first “purifying their energy” through drug use (which can allegedly result in a “bad trip”). This also explains why hippies are so obsessed with mandalas, tie-dyes, and psychedelic art.

But there is no proof that this swirl of colorful phenomenon is linked to the divine … or has any meaning at all. Some believe it is a look at our own inner soul. Others believe it is a different plane of reality, but it could simply be a dream mechanism. It could be anything. And it takes a certain amount of hubris to assume we can both expose and protect ourselves spiritually from what is far beyond our understanding.
This “dimension” supposedly allows one to get in touch with the divine, much like how Hermes was able to mediate with the heavens. If you “let spilleth the cup of Hermes” and “short-circuit” too often in life, you become less productive and have low energy. And this much, at least, is true. Self-pleasure and self-indulgence are unhealthy, and in too much excess, it can lead one down the road to an unproductive, lethargic life. It certainly makes one tired. In that respect, pornography can be weaponized against a country in order to lower birthrates, sap energy, and decrease overall productivity.
The final chakra is the hakini, the sahasrara, the crown chakra, where energy explodes from the top of your head and joins the universe (hence “becoming one with the universe“, which is actually what the “Tsao” is.) The crown is also sometimes called the “Sun Door”, or the “Firmament of Heaven”.
This all seems a bit far-fetched, though, doesn’t it? How could something so intangible have this much power and hold sway over so many religions? Why have world and industry leaders seemingly come to a consensus on this, even down to the mythological lore? Is it because they can see the phenomenon, and seeing is believing? Is it because it actually achieves results? Well, people who believe in this stuff do seem to be rich, famous, and/or powerful, almost like they made a deal with the devil.

These third-eye/Hermetic concepts were not weaved directly into Western culture, but it still surrounds us indirectly like a big secret. It’s printed on our money. It’s integrated into our pop culture. It’s baked into corporate logos. It’s standing in New York Harbor. Our celebrities continuously drop hints about it in interviews, and it’s even on our medical supplies.
Yet, in the United States, at least, our nation was founded under God. It makes sense to me that we should strive to be successful through Him, rather than through a pantheon of unkind gods and whispering serpents that promise we can “be like God”. It sounds very much like the temptation in the Garden of Eden, doesn’t it?
Next, taking him to a very high mountain, the devil showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. And he said to him, ‘I will give you all these, if you fall at my feet and do me homage.’
-Mathew 4:8-11
Then Jesus replied, ‘Away with you, Satan! For scripture says: The Lord your God is the one to whom you must do homage, him alone you must serve.’
Then the devil left him, and suddenly angels appeared and looked after him.
Notice Jesus never denied that the devil was perfectly capable of delivering every kingdom of the world. Make no mistake, Satan rules this world, and his teachings thrive best in the shadows.
