Where did I last leave off? Ah yes, I introduced you to the O.T.O.
(The featured photo is an inner sanctum of the Temple of the Ordo Templi Orientis in Philadelphia.)
Established well before Aleister Crowley came into the picture, we learned that the Ordo Templi Orientis is a fanatic religious order which was (and still is) phallic in nature. (But that’s no surprise–Most cults are.)
We also learned the O.T.O. was established for the purpose high-rank masonic rituals, that their abbreviation and fraternity rings were decidedly phallic in nature, that they hold the Dog Star (Sirius) holy, have their own trinity to mock the Catholic faith, and sometimes try to communicate with extraterrestrial beings.
They are also a “California charitable corporation and a federally recognized tax-exempt religious entity.” They also have a disclaimer officially stating that they “do not practice medicine” in order to avoid possible legal issues involving any medicinal use of their “Elixir of Life”.
Now, I’m about to say a few things about the Freemasons, which I understand can be a sensitive subject. So as we go through this next small part, please to keep in mind that members have highly variable experiences within mason lodges. The reason we’re talking about the Masons here will make more sense later.
Low level masons (which are the vast majority of them) are trained to believe their fraternities are fundraiser organizers whose primary goal is to do good for their community and teach men how to be decent fathers and great men of society (although most mason organizations are now officially “inclusive“). They believe the Freemasons teach and uphold virtues for new generations, and act as paternal figures.
The people who believe the function of the masons start and stop there are the ones you typically see at recruiting booths. And–let’s face it–their pitch is attractive. The mentioned goals are laudable; exactly what this country needs, in fact, to get itself back on-track.
But you have to understand they often don’t know much beyond that. They’ve been indoctrinated to defend the brotherhood, and may even get angry if one were to suggest that anything further were going on. After all, one of their primary goals is to be known as “Ancient, Free, & Accepted“… in the public eye.
But, one day, a lower rank member may do something to compromise themselves, or find themselves in a compromised position, which will likely start the climb to the upper levels–whether they like it or not. And if they do climb, mark my words, they will eventually find the following quote to be absolutely true:
The science of sexual magic is the key to the development and the underlying secret of all Masonic symbols.
-Theodor Reuss, “Mysteria Mystica Maxima”
And then they will be forced to ask themselves: If the primary aim of Masonic symbolism is sexual, then why are mason organizations so interested in children?
Unfortunately, if they’ve gotten that far, they’ll probably already know the answer.
Now I understand the above may be difficult to swallow, especially if you or your loved ones have ever been involved with the Freemasons or mason-adjacent organizations, activities, gatherings, cookouts, etc.
But let’s put it this way– If you are Catholic and then become a mason, it’s cause for excommunication. This isn’t because Catholics are “mean”, it’s because the people who make these decisions have done deep research and understand the deeper meanings behind these rituals, the symbolism, and the sayings of the Freemason rites, and they have been deemed wholly incompatible with Christianity and the teachings found in the Catechism.
One of the foremost reasons of Christian concern is because (and masons DO NOT tell you this), before you are even allowed to set foot in a masonic temple as an official member for the very first time, you must memorize and recite a phrase that subtly blasphemes God (through hidden meaning).
In time, they teach you the Qabalic idea of the Monad, the very thing writer/occultist Alan Moore was speaking about in this post. And it is only with the information you learn later that you can start to understand the true meaning of the rituals and oaths you’ve already taken.
By the time you’re in that deep, you’ve already got a lot to lose. It’s all meant to slowly reel you in.
So I don’t say this lightly: If you’re in such a group and there’s still time, get out while you can.
However, this post wasn’t meant to be a takedown of the masons.

I just feel this information was necessary to gain a better understanding of not only typical occultic structure, but of the O.T.O.’s internal structure specifically, which is itself a spinoff of Germanic Freemasonry combined with the Baphomet-centric Illuminati. It is also important to note that not all masonic orders are created equal, and that the O.T.O. have taken some of the masonic ideas mentioned above to disturbing extremes.
Analyzing the “Order of the Temple of the East”
There are eleven degrees to the O.T.O., and there is a “Supreme Secret” that can only be learned by obtaining the final degree. This is a fairly common structure for secret societies.
Unlike with the Freemasons, there are no recruiters for the O.T.O. To get in, you have to be vouched for by two existing members.
The first three degrees are open to all non-Pagans ie: you have to believe in some “supreme being”, be it God, Satan, Lucifer, Diana, Shiva, etc. (“Supreme Being” worship is also a requirement to join the masons, and is a common requirement for nearly every mystery school religion.)
Every man and woman of full age, free, and of good report, has an indefeasible right to the first three Degrees of O.T.O.
Degrees I-III is the useful idiot tier, in that these members are encouraged to “mandate and discover one’s “True Will” and “discover his or her own identity”, which of course we already learned the magi in the higher ranks are able to leverage toward their own Will (ie: magick).
So these are the basic degrees, which are for all the recruits who are still naïve to the true purpose of the O.T.O. They would only be permitted to move higher in rank (IV+) if they’ve built up a tremendous amount of trust, or leverage exists (ie: blackmail material) over the member to proceed.
If anyone within those first three degrees were to question why they have not been allowed to ascend to a higher rank, they’re told it’s because the “fellow aspirant” has not strived hard enough or exerted enough “effort” toward the “Great Work”. And yes, most of those words are double entendres.
Thus, the 11 degrees are based on (surprise, surprise) “the symbolism of the Chakras and the rising of the Kundalini“.
Aspirants are told the degrees are “a staged series of initiations” which are “conferred ceremoniously”. They are “allegorical profound mysteries” that are a “dramatic representation” of the “Individual’s Path in Eternity”.
Eventually, aspirants are taught Hermetic Philosophy, Qabalah, Magick, and Yoga, all of which I’ve covered here many times, capped finally by the “Supreme Secret” at the completion of the 11th degree.
Before I go on, be warned the rest of this is NSFW***
To give you an example of what would be expected of higher level members, the ritual to pass degree VIII is to have “interaction outside the vagina and anus” where the sexual fluids are “mixed with saliva and rubbed into the anus and perineum, as well as the external correspondences to the chakras“. The fluids are also used to “annoint the internal anus”, then be transferred as “triune elixir” back into the mouth.
I am inclined to believe that the XIth degree is better than the IXth degree.
-Aleister Crowley, 1916
To understand what Crowley meant in the above quote, degree IX involves interaction with the vagina and menstrual blood, whereas XI heavily involves anal intercourse, excrement, and blood from inflicted wounds.
I will not go into the details of the other degrees or share what the Supreme Secret is in this post, because there’s still a bit more to consider before we can truly understand the O.T.O.
