Merry Christmas!

The last few months have been quite the journey:

I moved my family to a whole new state, a state more free, more happy, more peaceful.

Our storage unit after it was emptied and loaded onto the moving truck.

The views here are breathtaking. I’m used to flat, boring, repetitive land.

I’ve lived in the same state my entire life, so there’s culture shock. But it’s an adventure. Life is exciting, and there’s no telling what new places and experiences we’ll discover around the corner each day.

Back in November, I submitted a short story to Anvil magazine and am expecting to hear back from them any day now. Like Cirsova, I hold Anvil in high regard and it would be a personal dream come true to be included in such a publication.

I also was asked to write for a website called Fandom Pulse. You can find my first article here. (A brand new article I have not yet posted on this website!)

On top of all that, a new job offer landed in my lap that offers a life-changing amount of money. I wasn’t seeking a different job, so this was quite an unexpected Christmas present for the whole family!

I’d been with the same company for fourteen and a half years, so now I’m not only dealing with the culture shock of a new home in a new state, but also I’ll have a brand new job with a new company.

So much is different that if my family weren’t the same, it would feel like I’d taken over someone else’s life.

But today, I’m back in my hometown, and it’s good to be with the extended family and all my old friends again.

Anyway, I hope that you and yours are having a wonderful and merry Christmas, and that God blesses you with joy this holiday season.
